"Wow, what a wonderful presentation, once I started I couldn't stop." - K. R., LCSW
Dr. Karyl McBride is offering therapists an opportunity to treat adult children of narcissistic parents and to help stop the legacy of distorted love.
Therapist Training for Healing the Daughters of Narcissistic Mothers
This workshop is provided for therapists and mental health professionals who are interested in treating adult children of narcissistic parents. It is designed to follow the five-step recovery model designed by Dr. McBride and discussed in her recent book: Will I Ever Be Good Enough? Healing the Daughters of Narcissistic Mothers.
The training provides you with the complete program that is offered for clients along with accompanying video training for therapists on each step of recovery. This means that each section of the video training gives you the daughter lectures first with all the homework pdf’s and then follows with a special segment for the therapist on that particular step.
The training concludes with a segment of Q&A involving Dr. McBride and one of her colleagues, Sue Seiler. (If you want to check out what is offered in the client workshop, which is included in this one, please go to this link to read the description.)
Therapist Workshop Testimonials
I wanted to write and tell you about my experiences listing on your website. I have had moving experiences resulting in growth with clients coming in regularly that were referrals from your site. I have found while past experiences have to be processed and worked through to achieve growth and learning, my clients also benefit from your model in helping them to move on and learn to set boundaries. The clients and I use "Will I Ever Be Good Enough" as a guide and reference. While it is difficult work, it is so rewarding as the book helps clients to move forward from a painful past. The work has helped my clients in many ways and has helped them clarify the issues to help them with healthier self care. I really can't tell you how much I appreciate the work you have done, Dr. McBride, and how meaningful it is to my clients and to me.
“…[When] I discovered Dr. McBride’s book, Will I Ever Be Good Enough? and began recommending it to my clients; the changes I saw in their recovery were amazing. It was as if a 100 watt shining light bulb had been lit in a very dark room. Beginning with Step One: “Acceptance and Grief” to Step Five: “Ending the Narcissistic Legacy,” I now had practical and insightful exercises to teach my clients how to set boundaries with a narcissistic mother, how to create healthy separation and individuation from mother, how to grieve and accept what they could not change, and how to reach inner peace through the forgiveness process. Because of the results I saw in my clients from reading Dr. McBride’s book, I decided to complete her training, Healing the Daughters of Narcissistic Mothers, which expanded my knowledge in this field as well as providing clients with resources in the form of homework assignments to implement throughout their recovery journey.
I am very excited to be trained, certified, and actively using the 5-step recovery model of the Will I Ever Be Good Enough? Workshop/Training, and I am looking forward to continuing to help women recognize, implement, and heal from the pain of growing up with a self-absorbed mother.”
- Virginia Pignato
“I have found it very valuable to be on the Will I Ever Be Good Enough? Therapist Registry. It has so enriched my practice to be certified and work with daughters of narcissistic mothers using Dr. McBride's 5 step recovery model. There are so many women out there who feel alone with this issue, and it is very rewarding to connect with them.”
- Stephanie M. Kriesberg, Psy.D., Licensed Psychologist
"Wow, what a wonderful presentation, once I started I couldn't stop. I thought the format was very effective and gained even more from your wisdom and deep understanding of healing this trauma, and particularly liked the final Q & A section.
Your insights and work are such a blessing and so accurate and validating. When I first started my healing journey over 25 years ago there simply wasn't this kind of information or validation, women today truly have no idea how the pioneers in this field have made it possible to get what's needed, including support and education, because no one really 'knew' or talked about any of this until recently.
The therapist workshop has "inspired me to get trained in EMDR which I hadn't considered before, even though I participated in doing so as part of my healing journey.
What a great use of the internet and way to hopefully train numerous therapists in this work."
- Kathy Rudlin, LCSW
