I happened upon Dr. McBride’s book Will I Ever Be Good Enough a few years ago and knew I had to get certified in her 5-step recovery model. After reading her book, I realized that I had been treating adult children of narcissistic parents for almost 10 years. The stories and struggles my clients shared were, in essence, the same- difficulty setting boundaries, low self-esteem, difficulty with trust, and relationships, not knowing who they really were authentically.
Dr. McBride’s approach, combined with my extensive training as an Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist, provides me with a strong framework with which to help my clients realize a lasting change in their lives- lives free of shame, sadness, and low self-esteem and struggle.
I am always amazed by the courage, strength, and poise my clients embody as they do this powerful work. It is inspiring and humbling to witness the healing process as these amazing women start to feel strong from the inside out- as they begin to look inside of themselves for the validation and self-love that they -that we all - desperately need and have needed since childhood, unconditionally and unapologetically.
My expertise lies in empowering women to heal from the damaging effects of maternal narcissism.
- I do work with men as well, but the bulk of my practice is with women.
- I offer individual and group therapy sessions in my office in West Hartford CT.
- I offer phone sessions and online therapy (Connecticut and Massachusetts).
- I also offer retreats designed to do more intensive work. This is an opportunity to heal while having the support and community of others who are just like you- adult daughters of narcissistic mothers.
I accept Connecticut Medicaid (HUSKY) only. I am an out-of-network provider for all other insurance.
